Born in San Juanito, Chihuahua, Mexico, Mr. Cervantes became a naturalized citizen of the United States by the age of 23. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at El Paso 1974. Three years later, he received his Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Texas Southern University.

Mr. Cervantes was admitted to practice in Texas in 1977. Currently, he is licensed to practice law throughout Texas and other parts of the South and West:
